Extortionist publishers and editors are threat for the Indian Media Industry.Such types of publishing houses are mushrooming in the capital city Delhi,Noida,Mumbai,Gurgaon,Patna, Bengluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ghaziabad, Lucknow and other Indian cities very rapidly.

There are thousands of magazine and newspaper publishers which are not registered by the registrar of the Newspapers of India. They exploits mentally and economically the budding journalists for the permanent jobs and highest salary packages.

They violates human rights, child rights, women rights, youth rights, senior citizen rights, animal rights and Constitutional rights. They are also responsible for the criminalization of the youth, rise in Yellow journalism, social & sexual crimes, global sex trades, sexual exploitation & trafficking of Children, Youth & Women and suicides. They often exploits their staff and young journalists, writers and authors mentally, physically, economically and sexually. They demands money/sex bribes for the promotion in the job and regular publication of the news, stories, features etc. The list of Extortionist Journalism victims are increasing at an alarming rate. Who will hear & write about their horrific stories?
Are they not ruining their careers and dreams for happy life ?

Their handsome personalities and smiling faces are more dangerous than the International dons and terrorists. There are national and International network of extortionist journalists. They earn lakhs of rupees per month for the publication of the news stories, books and advertisements. Sting operations and black mailing are their main features.

There is also nexus between the Extortionist Publishers, cops, lawyers and political leaders. They are also violating the basic rules and etiquettes of journalism. They are also responsible for the violation of children, women, youth, students, dalits & animals’ rights. They did not hesitate to misuse media power for extortion of money from the educational institutes, corporate world, film industry, fashion industry, doctors, IT’s, political leaders etc. They also encourages cubs (young Indian journalists)about the art of Extortion Journalism for luxurious life and money.

What is this ? Is it Journalism for Truth,Sustainable Development & Social Justice or Extortionist Journalism ? Is it not a crime against the Humanity and the nation ?Why Indian Laws are helpless and hapless to punish such types of Extortionist Publishers and
Editors ? Why the minister of Information and Broadcasting is not intervening into this problem ??????????

I don’t think we can still call it journalism. If they are crooks, it’ll be more apropos to call it swindling.

Hey Ranjan..First arrange the sentences in order...okay you are revealing the dark side of media in the country. you have written - 'They violates human rights, child rights, women rights, youth rights, senior citizen rights, animal rights and Constitutional Rights. They are also responsible for the criminalization of the youth, rise in Yellow journalism, social & sexual crimes, global sex trades, sexual exploitation & trafficking of Children, Youth
& Women and suicides. They often exploits their staff and young journalists, writers and authors mentally, physically, economically and sexually.'

Do you have any idea that these charges are very serious in nature, you can be sued for writing such things against media....Bring one person forward who is ready to present evidences against media houses. I am not saying that all of them are clean but collect some evidences before writing such things.

@ author, it seems you have some personal problems with some of the editors. You have used such harsh language against editors. You even called them more dangerous than the International dons and terrorists. We just want to know one name who is dangerous than Dawood but sitting in media house with a press card. Can you name one such person?

To Brajesh..There are so many...I repeat...so many examples of sexual exploitation in media. but at the end of the day victims don't want to fight with big crocodiles of media so they maintain silence. For the news channels the sting operations and investigating journalism have become tools to blackmail big fishes, and they use the budding journalists against those people. This is all happening in media no one is there to control it.

Black sheeps are in every profession. Media is no exception. But one thing is clear. No magazine or newspaper (any publication with periodicity) can be published and printed unless the title has been cleared by the Registrar of Newspapers for India (RNI), an I&B Ministry office. Then one has to make declaration before the Deputy Commissinor or District Magistrate of the district of publication in five copies. Without making declaration, it is illegal to bring out any publication with periodicity. If you have any such publication in your knowledge, pl. inform the district authorities. All these matters are governed by the Press Regulations and Book act (PRB).

The major problem is that media has become profit-making business. Financial viability is important key for sustainability of media group and no organisation can run for long without making profits. Businessmen, politicians, and even kin of criminals are opening news channels in India to use the power of media in their own interests. Treating media as a commodity is a perversion of the freedom of expression. Media has the the sacred responsibility to promote rational and enlightened public discourse but the commercialization has reduced the sense of obligations to the community.

Yes, there is decline in professionalism. There are some competent journalists who are doing outstanding job but the recent avatar of correspondents (boom holders) are dangerously uninformed and extremely casual about the noble profession. The power triangle of politicians, bureaucrats and industrialists with media is doing everything for private gain. Such things are reducing efficacy of press as guardians of public interest. I am not sure what Ranjan has written is correct but yes we can’t even reject all the charges.

@ Rajan

The sweeping statements you make are blasphemous and could land you in trouble.

And yet I wonder, you are or aspire to be a journalist.

Like every other profession all is not well with the media, but to lay the blame for every evil that exists in society at the door of the media is going to far.

@ Sweta
The casting couch has been made famous by the film industry and there must be sexual predators in the media too.

At the same time there are many people around who use sexual favors to hide incompetency and ride over others.

Its a trade off which both sides happily agree to. To term it as sexual exploitation, is contestable.

Agreed with Ravinder ”At the same time there are many people around who use sexual favors to hide incompetency and ride over others.” But you can’t blame one side for such things, blame the bosses too. This is also a kind of sexual exploitation.

Pratyush, thats what I stated that it is a trade off which both sides happily agree to.

However I concede to using the word ’happily’ wrongly.

I stand corrected and it should have been

While one side happily agrees to it the other side grudgingly does so.

But nonetheless it is a trade off that is mutually agree to.
