Political Roil Over Nanavati Report

“Burning of Sabarmati Train was not an accident,it was a preplanned incident.Unless I was satisfied,I would not have given the report. We have no doubt about what we have written. The prime accused Salim Panwala and Farukh Bhane are absconding and they may be in Pakistan.”- Justice Retd) Girish Thakoral Nanavati.

Nanavati Report Part-1 on Burning of Sabarmati Train’s bogies was tabled on Thursday in the Gujarat Assembly. It was welcomed by the BJP.But boycotted by the Congress Party, opposition parties and some NGOs.Minister of State for Home Amit Shah tabled the report on the first day of the three-day monsoon session of the Gujarat State Assembly.

This controversial report says that the burning of the Sabarmati Express train on February 27,2002 was not an accident, but it was a totally conspiracy against the Ram Bhakt VHP Kar Sevaks coming from Ayodhya.Total 59 innocent Ram Bhakta Kar Sevaks including 25 women and 15 children were brutally burnt alive by the mob fury in this train’s closed coaches.

The Godhra Commission, which is probing the burning of Sabarmati Express, gave clean chits to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi,
his Ministers and Policemen in its first part of the report tabled in Gujarat’s State Assembly yesterday. It is also said that the Godhra incident was pre-planned.

This is perverse to the findings of the Justice UC Banerjee Committee Report appointed by the Railway Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav.

According to the Justice (Retd)GT Nanavati and Justice
(Retd)Akshay Mehta Report, the incident of burning S6 and S7 coaches of the Sabarmati Express on February 27, 2002,was a pre-planned conspiracy and not an accident. It further denied involvement of CM of Gujarat Narendra Modi or any ministers of
his council or any policemen in the whole tragic incident of Godhra.

According to the report Maulvi Hussain Umreji was the conspirator and the Master Terrormind of the incident.

Hasan Lala threw burning rags inside the train bogies.A total of 140 litres of petrol was used to set the train bogies on fire.
Stones were pelted by the anti socials to stop passengers from fleeing.Raza Kurkur and Salim Panwala bought petrol. The conspiracy was hatched by Maulvi Hussain Umarji at the Aman Guest House in Godhra and was mean to spread terror in the area.Shaukat Khan,Umran
Sheri,Safique Batuk,Salim Zarda,Jabbir and Sheerai Bala were the active participants in the incident.

The Nanavati Commission will submit the second part of its report about their findings on the post-Godhra communal riots by December.

This surely seems to be a pre-planned activity than and accident.
And if this was not the form of Indian Politics,, the picture of India would have been different.

You are right Mr. Kuntal,

Burning of the Sabarmati train’s two bogies on February 27, 2002 in the morning was indeed a pre-planned homicidal conspiracy. It is horrible and shameful.

This incident was responsible for the country’s longest barbaric communal blood curdling violence.Such types of
incidents are greatest hurdle in the
development of our country.

Thanks.

Good Luck.
